One thing I know that's for sure: a dream will stay a dream unless you do something to make it happen, and making it happen is not easy. If you've ever heard someone of great success say accomplishing their dream was the toughest thing they've ever done in life, they're not lying or exaggerating.
Setting out to accomplish this dream of mine has proven to be difficult - Every. Single. Day. Some days are tougher than others, and I have definitely had my "WTF am I doing moments" where I break down on Tres' shoulder because I wonder if it's all worth it. For every 100 days of nothing, there's sometimes a "something" day, and then out of the blue, there's a grand day that convinces you its all worth it.
On Friday, my Spring Chicken recipe was featured on The Today Show by Al Roker. Then this weekend, they named me their Today Food Club Star. Definitely a step in the right direction and a reminder that every day I need to work that much harder to keep climbing the steep mountain. This happened, yes, so it would be easy to think every day now is going to be another triumph, but I know better. I'm going to have 100+ more "days of nothing." I know that because success does not happen overnight and it's not served up to anyone on a gold platter. But I do know if you are a dreamer, you know what you want, and every ounce of your insides pour with passion for what you want, good things will continue to happen. Even if you have to go through hundreds more "days of nothing." Your "something" days are coming. And your grand days, they'll happen in due time.
